Basalt in Thailand is mainly distributed in the western and southern ends of the Khorat Plateau, near Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Kanchanaburi in the northwest, and Chanthaburi in the southeast. Basalt has a vesicular or almond-shaped structure, with the main minerals being plagioclase (mainly tholeiitic basalt) and pyroxene, and the secondary minerals being olivine and opaque minerals. The finished basalt products after deep processing in this project are mainly used in the construction field.
